Booking terms
These are the park’s published conditions. If you need a refund question answered for a particular booking, email bankabookings@ilsc.gov.au.
Office, check-in, check-out
- Office and reception: 9am to 5pm.
- Camp sites: check-in from 11am to 5pm. Check-out by 9am.
- Cabins: check-in from 2pm to 5pm. Check-out by 9am.
- Access after 5pm is only with a booking already made.
- If you will arrive after 5pm, message the park on Facebook beforehand. A late check-in fee of up to $5 may apply.
Payment and sites
Online bookings are paid in full when you reserve. The card is charged then, and a confirmation is emailed. Check the junk folder if it does not arrive.
Powered sites are allocated by the booking system. If you want a change, or you want to camp beside another booking, email the park. Requests are not guaranteed. Unpowered sites are not allocated in advance. Camping together on an unpowered site depends on space at check-in.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancel by email to bankabookings@ilsc.gov.au.
- More than 48 hours before the arrival date: a full refund.
- Within 48 hours of arrival: the park may keep a cancellation fee of up to the first night.
- If you shorten the stay after check-in, the full confirmed period may be charged. Book the number of nights you actually need. Leaving early is not refunded.
- Where Australian Consumer Law gives you a remedy, cancellation fees do not override that.
- Refunds are made when the park cannot provide the accommodation, or in exceptional circumstances. Change of mind and changes to your travel plans are not refunded.
- Bad weather is not refunded if the park is still operating and the road is open.
This is a seasonal road. Travel insurance is a sensible part of a booking to the Top End.
Water, shop and bar
The water is spring-fed. To keep it running, guests must not wash cars or camping setups, and must not fill onboard tanks. The campground supply is sometimes restricted so the tank can recover and water is available in the early morning and the evening.
The bar and shop open only during the season, April to September, and only if the on-site managers decide to open them. When the bar is open it is from 5pm to 7pm.
In the park
- No campfires at any time.
- No drones.
- No whip cracking.
- No refuelling or servicing of vehicles on site.
Follow the directions and rules you are given. They are there for other guests, and so the park can meet environmental and traditional owner requirements.
By booking, guests acknowledge that management assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries or loss from any cause while you are at Banka Banka West Station and Tourist Park.
Pets
Pets are welcome on powered and unpowered sites. They are not permitted in cabins, amenities, or the camp kitchen.
- Supervised at all times. Never left alone, including inside a tent, van or other accommodation.
- On a lead whenever they are outside your van, tent or cabin.
- Not allowed in the camp kitchen, showers, toilets or playground.
- You pick up waste, bag it, and put it in a bin.
- Pets, and their blankets and other gear, are not washed anywhere in the park.
- You are responsible for injury, damage or loss caused by your pet. If the managers judge a pet noisy, disruptive, aggressive, or the subject of complaints, you can be asked to leave immediately, without warning.
